Committee (Hope):

"Focus on Your Future" Saturday October 18th 8:30am-12pm at
Children's Corporate Center 999 N. 92nd St. Wauwatosa. Free to
parents and students.
ii.
Transition Fair November 11th at Oak Creek Community Center.
iii.
Next MCTAB meeting October 14th, 1-2pm at UCP.

WI Training & Health Disparities (Martha):
i.
One more event planned for first week of December- Crisis Intervention
with Becky B. and Faith Fanger, more details to come.

Next meeting, November 20th 2pm at Ives Groves.
e. Transit
Committee (Holly):
i.
No meeting in September or October, next meeting planned in November.
ii.
Haven't been receiving many Transit Communication Forms from providers.
Please fax them in if you have concerns/issues or positive feedback.

Discussion-benefit of having multiple locations to purchase Transit Plus
Tickets.

II.
General Issues:
a. Membership
- New Dues will be posted soon
b. Long
term /Family Care update:
i.
Opted not to move Mental Health to St. Mike's
ii.
Waukesha County in process of rolling out Family Care-transition has
been slow, contracts still being negotiated between Care Wisconsin and
Community Care. Letters of agreement have not been signed until contracts are
worked out.
iii.
Rates-most CMO's seemed to be following what counties have offered.
III.
DD Coordinator's Report (Sandra Butts):
a. Family
Care- at the last stakeholder meeting consumers and advocates expressed desire
to have 2 CMO's. Possibly the County and another agency.
b. Resource
Center-not sure if there are two applications.
c. Still
working with Christy Smith on moving people from Southern Center in to the
community.
d. As
Rep. Payees, once Loss of Benefits is received it is important to complete and
return that application ASAP. T19 waiver benefits cannot pay for any services
once this occurs.
e. Suggestion
to get in touch with the Private Industry Council or another entity to find
out if they have resources to help with the cost of training for caregivers.
f.
Next Tuesday or Wednesday, meeting for Supportive Living providers,
there are approximately 10 people that need to be place with various needs;
bilingual, deaf/hard of hearing, and cognitive abilities. Possibly 1pm on
Tuesday October 14th at UCP.

Other Discussion Items involving Family Care:
a. Disenrollment:
once someone goes to Mental Health, does continuation of care fall on the county
or CMO.
b. Bed
holds: 21 days through Community Care
c. Social
Security and SSI- cost share when providers remain Rep. Payee.

Other Business:
a. Caregiver
Public Hearing in Kenosha- approximately 100 people were present; caregivers,
providers and public officials. People were giving testimonials; main message
was that caregivers are not being paid a living wage.
b. RSA
Fall Regional Meeting: Hospice Care October 16th, 1-4pm in Appleton.
c. Suggestion
for next month to have a guest speaker from the state come in to explain the
online process for Eligibility Review notices.
d. Next
MADDSA meeting: November 13th 2008 9is at UCP.
